Akzidenz-Grotesk Next

Akzidenz-Grotesk Next Italic

Designer: Bernd Moellenstaedt and Dieter Hofrichter

Akzidenz-Grotesk Next is a sans-serif font family with 14 styles. It weights from 250 to 900, includes italic styles, supports latin scripts, full language coverage for Czech, German, English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, and Turkish, available in OTF.

Berthold first published Akzidenz-Grotesk in 1896. The design originates from Royal Grotesk light by Ferdinand Theinhardt who also supplied the regular, medium and bold weights. This new interpretation by Bernd Moellenstaedt and Dieter Hofrichter has been conceived as a single family that uses the principal shape characteristics of Akzidenz-Grotesk which now appear throughout all the weights. The x-height has been readjusted as well as the weights to obtain a more consistent design throughout the family from extralight to black.
